i have just got into breeding peppermint bristlenose after breeding normal bristlenose for about 6 mths.i have read that pep's reach maturity at about 7-10cm,which is incorrect.i bought a male pep 4cm which barely has its bristles and from a different supplier i bought a 3cm female and 2 weeks later i have peppermint fry, only 5 in this litter, which i am guessing is due to their small size.i am very carefull with my water quality and use only bio sponge filters.also i have read in many posts that the pep's will not breed in a tank under 100 litres, which is also incorrect as i breed all my fish in 2 foot 50 litre tanks.i have also had great success in breeding white skirt tetras and neons.i might just get a few more tanks and try my luck breeding pleco's.

Age is more important in determining if a pep is ready to breed. & for small plecs a 2ft tank is ample size for a small colony.
